Meet the New Director of Agronomy & Sustainability for Carr Golf Maintenance

Big news for our company and clients. Aindriu Jackson is the new Carr Golf Maintenance Director of Agronomy & Sustainability and will champion our vision for continuous course improvements through data-driven agronomic excellence and environmental stewardship.

This promotion underscores Aindriu’s contribution to significant results for our customers and his own professional development during a successful nine-year tenure as Regional Superintendent.

A greenkeeping professional with 30 years’ experience, he is also a registered pesticide and fertiliser advisor, holds crop protection certifications from BASIS (British) and IASIS (Irish), and earned a diploma in Integrated Pest Management from University College Dublin (UCD).

Most recently, Aindriu oversaw preparations at Seapoint Golf Links for the prestigious Irish Men’s Amateur Open.

In his new role, he will direct agronomic strategy, sustainability initiatives, maintenance operations, and client communications for 27 venues across Ireland and the UK.

Expertise and Leadership

“Aindriu’s promotion reflects not only the results he has consistently delivered for our clients but also his commitment to continuous learning and professional development,” said Ed Pettit, Managing Director of Carr Golf Maintenance. “His expertise and leadership will ensure we continue to improve their golf course standards while fostering biodiversity and adhering to sustainability best practices.”

Different Challenges

In 2026, golf clubs must navigate rising consumer expectations, weather-induced playability issues, increasing operational costs, and mounting regulatory obligations.

In this unfamiliar environment, Aindriu will develop comprehensive strategies to meet our clients’ requirements and support their goals.

“Greenkeepers today face a very different set of challenges than they did when I started in the industry,” he said. “The products available to us have changed significantly, which means we must be more proactive, more strategic and more informed in how we manage turf health and course performance.

“My role is to help clubs deliver outstanding playing conditions while protecting and enhancing the environment around them. That means using data to make better decisions, identifying opportunities to improve biodiversity and ensuring that every agronomic programme is tailored to the specific needs of the site.”

Growing Team

Finally, we’re also delighted to announce that John O’Sullivan has rejoined Carr Golf Maintenance to succeed Aindriu as Regional Superintendent.

With a variety of high-level industry experience, John brings a unique blend of operational, agronomic and commercial know-how to the team that will greatly benefit our clients.

Previously, he served as Course Superintendent at Waterville Golf Links, Head of Course Operations and Director of Golf at Druid’s Glen, and General Manager at both Dundalk Golf Club and Edmondstown Golf Club.
